Chad Carrone grew up in Metairie, Louisiana, and enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17. After eight years of service, he pursued nursing, graduating from Charity School of Nursing and earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Nearly two decades in emergency medicine gave Chad a firsthand view of the barriers patients face. During the COVID-19 pandemic, those gaps became even more visible. In October 2021, he left hospital work and invested his savings in launching a medical practice.
After a difficult early business experience, Chad founded DPC Plus. His goal was a network of direct primary care practices built around access, continuity and the relationship between patients and their care teams.
As Founder and CEO, Chad leads DPC Plus with the principle of impact over profit. He works with employers and community partners to make better care more accessible and healthcare costs more predictable.
